Roque Espinosa arrives in Buenos Aires to study at the university. However, he soon realizes that he lacks both the talent and the interest for academics. He begins to wander aimlessly around the campus and make new acquaintances. One of the professors, Paula, introduces him to the world of politics and takes him to student movement meetings. There, Roque meets Alberto Acevedo, an experienced politician and university lecturer dedicated to shaping a new generation of party cadres. Under his guidance, Roque gradually learns the secrets of political strategy and power. Eventually, he becomes the leader of the student movement and discovers that politics is his true calling.
