Cetarti, a public servant recently fired, travels from Buenos Aires to Lapachito, a remote town in the Chaco province. He must deal with the bodies of his mother and brother, brutally murdered and to whom he has no emotional ties. The only thing driving him is the chance to collect a modest life insurance payout to move to Brazil. There, he meets Duarte, a kind of local crime boss and friend of his mother’s killer, with whom he forms a strange partnership to manage and claim the money.
