Buenos Aires, 1965. El Nene, Gaucho, and Cuervo form a gang of professional thieves who plan to rob a van transporting the salaries of government employees. The heist ends with three policemen dead and Gaucho injured. The gang flees with the loot to Montevideo. While in hiding, the relationship between El Nene and Gaucho deteriorates significantly. Tension, distrust, and suspicion that the police are on their trail escalate further when Giselle, a young prostitute, appears, and El Nene begins a secret relationship with her, behind Gaucho’s back.
