Joaquín, confined to a wheelchair, lives in a once-vibrant house now dark and gloomy. His life brightens when Berta, a striptease dancer, and her daughter Betty respond to his ad to rent a room. One night, while working in his basement, Joaquín hears a faint noise and discovers that a gang of criminals is digging a tunnel under his house with the intent of robbing a nearby bank.
